Blue & White 2011 Calendar

We are celebrating Blue & White’s 35th anniversary.

If in 35 years, we have created a place to welcome, to learn, to show, to share, to meet, to try, to taste, to dream, then we are happy.

Sorry not to have answered immediately to your inquiry.
Give us another week or so and we will send you photos and information.
      Thanks for your interest.

I was living in Hiroo when the Blue and White store opened in Azabu. I loved the concept and enjoyed visiting the store until I left for the US in 1978. During the 1990s, I was fortunate to work for a Japanese related company in Santa Rosa, CA and could travel to Tokyo on business where I always took a half day to make sure that I visited your store. Then my son was a JET in Aomori prefecture for 2 years in 2001-2003 and I once again stopped by and purchased a few gift items for friends in the US. Last week, while visiting my son who is living and working in Tokyo and married to a lovely Japanese woman and their new baby, I once again visited the your store but it was closed during the Oshogatsu holiday. I am leading a walking/hiking trip to Japan in October with 14 members of the Orinda Hiking club in CA and would love to stop by the store and share the beauty of blue and white Japanese products in a lovely setting and charm of your store. • Dear Kitty

Happy New Year ! and so sorry we were not open when you came to visit. We are open 7 days a week all year, but we do close the shop for a week in January. Your loyalty to Japan makes us very happy and you can call any time and we will open the shop for you ! To think you set aside half a day to come and visit !
We will definitely await your walking visit with the Orinda Hiking club. Maybe we can give you some insider information. Sumiko Enbutsu has written several books on Tokyo walking tours, flower walks and river walks. You may know them. We have them in the shop. I also live in Kiyosumi Shirakawa on the Sumida River, and the walking here is wonderful.
We’ll be waiting in October and will welcome you walkers.

      best to you

    • Wow Kitty ! You were living in Hiro in 1975 ! I hadn’t focused on your remarkable opening statement. How it must have changed each time you came.
Keep coming. See you in October.

    Amy,
I have put your web site information in travel details of our impending trip to Tokyo. We are staying in the Suidobashi area and will be following the footsteps of Matsuo Basho from 10/3 – 10/12 in the Tohoku Region of Japan with Walk Japan. I hope that I get to meet you after such a long personal admiration of your shop.

    Kitty
